Autel, Repairify Announce Agreement for Remote Diagnostics

Recommended Posts

Repairify and Autel U.S. announced an exclusive long-term collaboration agreement for the delivery of Repairify’s patented global OEM remote solutions for diagnostics, calibrations and programming through Autel’s remote-capable products across North America.

As part of the agreement, Repairify will integrate its patented global remote diagnostic, calibration and programming solutions as a new service offering into a revised version of Autel’s Remote Expert platform. Repairify and Autel will jointly manage the platform that now will offer customers the choice of using the certified and warrantied OEM remote solutions from Repairify, along with the independent Remote Experts (vetted for their experience) who already are serving the platform.

Launched in 2022, Autel’s Remote Expert provides customers onsite aftermarket scanning and access to remote OEM tools supported by experienced professionals. Remote Expert is available through the Autel MaxiSYS Ultra, Ultra EV, MS919, MS909 and MS909 EV diagnostics tablets. Remote Expert also will be expanded into Autel’s ADAS calibration systems.

“We are excited to enter into this collaboration with Repairify,” Autel U.S. CEO Chloe Hung said. “Autel developed the Remote Expert platform to provide our users remote access to specialized and experienced module programmers and diagnosticians. We are very proud that its success drew the attention of a company of such quality and industry success as Repairify. We are confident that this partnership will benefit both companies and, most importantly, be of immense value to our users.”

According to the companies, combining the Repairify remote services solutions program with the Autel Remote Expert Platform delivers what automotive repair professionals have requested for years: a seamless experience that delivers fast, accurate, certified and safe vehicle repairs with the choice of aftermarket or OEM tool support.

“Since its launch into the North American market in 2005, Autel has been known for their consistent delivery of leading innovative solutions across the mechanical and collision markets,” said Cris Hollingsworth, president of Repairify Global Holdings. “Repairify is honored to embark on this partnership and to broaden the reach of our solutions through the new and existing Autel network of customers.” For additional information, visit

NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.) and Autel U.S. have again joined forces to create diagnostic webinar sessions.
The sessions, to be initially released through Autel’s live webinar series, were created over three days of recording at NGK’s Technical Center at its U.S. headquarters in Wixom, Michigan.
The series consists of six 60-minute webinars that dig deep into system diagnostics of domestic and import vehicle makes using the MaxiSYS Ultra tool to scan, scope and test various components, including NGK ignition and NTK sensor products. The webinars are hosted by Philip Austin, manager of technical training for NGK, and Mike Flink, director of sales and training for Autel.
“We are excited to continue our collaborative partnership with Autel and host them in our facility to create these webinars,” said Kirt Denman, NGK aftermarket director. ”Partnering to create content leveraging both companies’ technical expertise expands our reach, helping technicians to diagnose and troubleshoot repairs properly.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to once again team up with NGK to create such valuable webinar content for professional technicians,” said Mike Flink, director of sales and training Autel. “NGK/NTK products, Autel diagnostic software, and tablets complement each other and offer the technician a comprehensive, quality, efficient repair solution. In addition, these webinars offer a fantastic opportunity to spread the word about our products and provide technicians with meaningful instruction and advice.”
When the programs live stream, all sessions will include a live Q&A. These webinars will then be uploaded to NGK’s on-demand technical training portal, which is accessible through The Shop Squad.

Advance Auto Parts announced the opening of a new Carquest Auto Parts and Worldpac distribution center in Bolton, Ontario.
The 580,000-square-foot facility is the first to combine Carquest and Worldpac DC operations under one roof.
Located at 8399 George Bolton Parkway, the new facility has the capacity to house more than 350,000 automotive parts serving the majority of domestic and import vehicles in Canada, according to the company.
The new Carquest and Worldpac distribution center employs more than 200 team members, with many team members living locally in Bolton, Caledon and surrounding communities.
“We are thrilled to warehouse our combined Carquest and Worldpac product offering in one building, providing our stores, branches and customers with the largest assortment of brands and superior service,” said Steve Gushie, president of Carquest Canada. “This distribution center enables us to stock more parts than ever before and its technology and quick replenishment system will help us deliver product to our customers quickly and efficiently. We appreciate the hard work of everyone at Carquest and Worldpac to make this happen.”
Today, the facility serves more than 130 Carquest stores and Worldpac branches across central and eastern Canada. These stores and branches serve more than 37,000 professional repair shops and automotive dealerships. This includes 500 TechNet Professional repair shops.
“With more motorists holding onto their vehicles longer, an expanded product offering is required to keep those older vehicles on the road,” said Jason Yurchak, Worldpac senior vice president, Canadian operations. “Bringing our Worldpac parts inventory together with Carquest under one roof allows us to carry parts for virtually every type of vehicle on the road today. Our DC team offers nightly replenishment of every Worldpac and Carquest facility with multiple same day deliveries, ensuring customers get the right part at the right time.”
The distribution-center team plans a formal grand opening and ribbon cutting event in spring 2023.

Autel U.S. has launched its Remote Expert platform to all MaxiSYS Ultra, MS919 and MS909 tablets nationwide.
The Remote Expert platform connects technicians with independent module programmers, automotive diagnosticians and system experts who use the peer-to-peer network to perform needed services remotely.
Earlier this year, the platform debuted on the East Coast and has since become available across the country and Canada.
“Techs can connect with experts remotely from as close as down the street to thousands of miles away,” explained Maurice Miller, Autel’s director of technical operations.
Since its debut, more than 2,500 sessions have been completed, and the platform continues to grow in popularity, according to the company. Remote Expert has seen more than 350 competed orders in just the first two weeks of August.
As shops face a severe staff shortage and technicians are overwhelmed with the increasing complexity of today’s vehicles, Remote Expert is an ideal solution, Autel asserted.
“Remote Expert is like a virtual lifeline from the technician to an expert,” said Miller. “Whatever a technician’s challenge, from a tricky diagnosis to module programming, he can use the platform to reach out to an expert. No need to sublet the work or wait for a mobile programmer to drive to the shop; help is a tap on the tablet away.”
Here’s how it works: From his Autel Ultra, MS919 or MS909, the technician writes the order with vehicle identification and the issue and submits it to the expert community. The expert sends a quote on the job directly to the tablet. Once the price is set, the expert connects his hardware and Autel Remote Expert device to one of Autel’s multiple pass-through servers. The servers are strategically located throughout the United States to ensure that communication from the expert’s systems to the technician’s equipment and vehicle is sent efficiently with the least latency or delay.
Although other companies offer remote programming and diagnostics services, the Autel Remote Expert platform is unique for many reasons, according to the company. The technician needs only his Autel tablet and VCI; no other hardware is required. The expert contracts directly with the technician while Autel only acts to provide the platform and to vet each expert to confirm that each has liability insurance and the proper education, experience, OE subscriptions and hardware.
