Cadillac may become GM's Electric brand

Recently, foreign media reported that GM has confirmed that it plans to position Cadillac as the leading brand of the group's future electric vehicles. The newly developed general BEV3 platform is expected to be used by Cadillac in 2021.

At present, the news about whether Cadillac's next electric car is SUV or car is unknown, but earlier, the company did release ELR plug-in hybrid model based on Volt and CT6 plug-in hybrid version. Meanwhile, in September last year, Cadillac CEO Steve Carlisle announced that they would suspend diesel engine development and focus more on electrification. It is understood that GM said in November 2018 that due to the restructuring of the company, they will increase investment in electric vehicles and autopilot in the next two years, and plans to launch a new electric vehicle structure and advanced battery system in 2021 to support its R & D in at least 20 new models in the United States and China.
