Akebono Brake Corp. recently expanded its EURO and Performance ultra-premium lines of disc brake pads.
Akebono added three new part numbers to its EURO line: EUR1850, EUR1850A and EUR1850B. The company added one new part number to its Akebono Performance line: ASP1718. An electronic wear sensor and premium stainless steel abutment hardware are included in the kits that require them.
The release includes EURO brake pads with premium stainless hardware and electronic wear sensor for BMW 530e, 530e xDrive, 530i, 530i xDrive, 540i, 540i xDrive, 745e xDrive, 840i Gran Coupe, 840i xDrive Gran Coupe, M550i xDrive, BMW X3 M40i, X3 sDrive 30i, X3 xDrive 30e, X3 30i, BMW X5 M50i, X5 sDrive 40i, X5 xDrive 40i, X5 xDrive 45e, X6 M50i, X6 sDrive 40i, X6 xDrive 40i and X7 xDrive 40i. Spectra Premium Mobility Solutions has appointed Josh Gordon as president and CEO, effective immediately, the company announced.
Previously, Gordon was president and COO of Spectra.
Gordon joined Spectra in November 2021 and brings a wealth of experience in the automotive industry, with previous leadership roles at Fram Group and Old World Industries, as well as a rich commercial background in consumer products.
Denis Chabot, Spectra’s previous CEO, is retiring but will remain closely involved with Spectra as a board member and senior advisor.
“We are excited about all the positive momentum at Spectra Premium, which continues with the appointment of Josh as the new CEO,” said Ilya Koffman, chairman of the board at Spectra Premium Mobility Solutions. “Josh is a proven leader in the industry, and we are confident that he will drive Spectra’s future success. “We would also like to thank Denis for all his contributions to Spectra Premium and look forward to continuing to work with him in his role as a member of the board of directors.”

Gordon will be leading the business transformation that started last November upon Spectra’s acquisition by Turnspire Capital Partners.

In order to harmonize brand presence for consumers, ContiTech premium air springs announced it will officially transition to the worldwide brand name Continental.
The change to a stronger, well-known name better connects to Continental’s technology brand, the company said.
“The Continental brand is known globally with a high reputation with customers – consistently delivering world-class and innovative products and services,” the company said in a news release. “This rebrand allows Continental to make products more visible and increase market awareness as a premium supplier among customers.”
The only firsthand change customers will see is the transition of labeling on products and informative materials.
“We are excited about this change and look forward to the positive impact it will make,” said Garrett Oliveira, vice president of sales USA & Canada. “Continental is a brand recognized and respected worldwide, and our products reflect that commitment to quality and service. In an ongoing effort to expand its current product offering for the North American automotive aftermarket, AISIN has expanded its line of premium window regulators.
The launch includes late-model Asian, domestic and European vehicle applications.
The 201 SKUs include:

Modulus, a new brand of CARDONE Industries Inc., has announced its debut as “the absolute solution for premium power-steering replacement products.”
Offering precisely engineered, brand-new components in custom packaging, Modulus represents a new approach to meet the changing demands of the steering aftermarket, the company said.
“As automotive technology evolves, the complexities within each system become more pronounced,” said Mark Mooberry, vice president, product management & business development. “In the case of power steering, we set out to blend job-in-a-box efficiency with a premium, brand-new product that simplifies the replacement process and offers peace of mind over the long haul.”
