Material Types of car body rubber parts

Recommended Posts

Oil resistant rubber, including NBR, ACM, ECO and other synthetic rubber, is an important raw material for automobile rubber flexion, accounting for about 15%~20%. In recent years, the oil like stocks are not new and the application range is expanding rapidly.

1.NBR is the most widely used and widely used type in the field of rubber and rubber, which accounts for more than 80% of the rain oil rubbers used in automobiles. It has very good ketone oil properties, and in the environment of four categories of gasoline and Chai run, the use of Shou 6 can reach 10-20 km. Generally working at -20~+120 C, the same energy is up to 5~10 years, the lowest humidity is -30~-40 C, and the maximum can reach 130~140 C. However, oil and cold resistance, oil resistance and oxygen aging often have the contradiction between the two laws, and the global NBR enterprises have reached more than 20, the annual output is more than 300 thousand T, and the strict species as many as 30 species totalling 300 Above production brand, main enterprise Lansheng and Rui lie occupied about 2/3, he has Jin, Xi Bo Er, JSR and so on. In order to make up for the difference in performance between NBR and meet the requirements of different aspects, the NBR produced nowadays is based on oil level.(the size of acrylonitrile) is divided into five types: low, medium, middle, high, high and high. The majority of the vehicles are middle and high, that is, NBR26 and 3 account for more than 4/5, which are mainly made of automobile hose, each and seal, especially oil seal and O ring. NBR is a copolymer of butadiene and propene, and acrylonitrile is from 18-41. In addition to the standard type of NBR17042707 (N41), 3408 (DN214), 3804, and 5007, a variety of easy to be soluble, easy to wear, corrosion resistant, low humidity, aging resistant, and a series of other chemical physics are also developed. Their ratio of stars to stars is expanding in NBR. In addition, there are other forms of NBR, such as liquid NBR, shape NBR, powder NBR, as well as NBR in common viewing form, NBR/PVC blends and so on. (1) Partially cross-linked NBR can be prepared by introducing divinylbenzene into NBR, which can improve the processing performance, easily press out the jade, increase the speed and reduce the deformation. For example, Hycar1042JSRN210S, Krynac810 and so on (2) NBR add carboxylic acid as three of third components. The polymer one to one carboxyl NBR can improve the adhesion of NBR and metal, and further improve the oil resistance, aging resistance, tearing resistance and resistance to damage of the gum. For example, Hycar1072, N34, JSRN632S and so on (3) NBR added a polymerized antioxidant to the polymer to become a part of the main key of the polymer to prevent the loss of the antiaging agent during the use of the product, thus greatly improving the aging resistance and service life of NBR. Such as SRNS351, N541. With special formula, the heat resistance and oil resistance of the NBR are even comparable to (4) NBR D two, acrylonitrile and acrylonitrile mononitrile ester, which can greatly improve the heat resistance and oil resistance of NBR, and use the level of 5 at the working environment of 50 C, which is basically close to the level of ACM). The unsaturated double bond is saturated by hydrogen saturation in the polymerization. Hydrogenated or hydrogenated NBR, also known as high saturation NBR tube, is called HNBR. It completely modifies the traditional NBR and improves it by one grade. It combines oil resistance, heat resistance, cold resistance, aging resistance and high mechanical strength and elongation. Its price is doubled. The work strength can reach -40~150 C, resistance to oil, except the most suitable for engine O ring, tree pad, automobile fuel and run trickle system rubber tube, it has become the main stream of main raw materials of automobile drive belt and brush strip, HNBR has been unique in the field of NBR, and the world's NBR production manufacturers are developing and producing, such as the Zetpol HSN of Japanese reion. Their saturation degree is Therban (HNBR) and A (99.5%), B (98%) and C(95%),CNs were divided into 17% (34% acrylonitrile), 19% (38% acrylonitrile) and 22% (44% acrylonitrile) for different uses. (6) NBR blends with other materials have greatly improved the properties of NBR. In recent years, NBR has been developed into a commercial production brand. NBR/PVC blends can significantly improve the ozone resistance and weathering resistance. Well, the oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance and processing technology have been improved. It has been widely used in the outer coating of automobile tube and the rubber parts of automobile. The blending ratio of NBR/PVC can be from 70/30 to 50/50, and the commercialization grades include NipolDN820, Krynac Nv850 and so on.Two is NBR/EPDM blends (20/30 or 60/40) can improve the heat resistance and aging resistance of NBR, use the temperature to reach -50~150 C, commonly used to manufacture car protection sleeves, tubes, production grades of JSRNE and so on. The three is NBR/DOP blend (100/50), that is, filling the oil by filling the DOP plasticizer at the time of rubber polymerization. It can not only keep the strength of the maple, but also reduce the mixing difficulty, shorten the mixing time and save energy, which is mainly used as the automobile fuel tube. Production brands include Nipol DN224, Hycar1082, krynac843, etc. China's NBR production enterprises include Lanzhou petrochemical, Jilin petrochemical and Zhenjiang South Emperor (Taiwan capital) 3, a total of more than 40 brands.

2.ACM is a copolymer of ethyl lactone with 2-chloroethyl ethyl or butylene propionate with acrylonitrile. The former is called ACM and the latter is called ANM. At present, the global production and sales are about more than 100 thousand tons, more than 80% are used in automobile rubber products, so it is also called automobile rubber. The 3%~5%ACM of automobile rubber is a saturated type rubber. In order to make it cross linking, it usually adds third monomers of monomer which can provide vulcanization points during polymerization, forming active chlorine, epoxy, basic type and diene. Type (ENB) and other types. The earliest production of ACM was the ancient total Lich chemistry, which was later extended to Japanese oil seals, Rui, JSR and so on. There were 10 kinds of cars sold in Japan and more than 30 kinds of commodity brands with standard type (AR31, 51), heat resistant (AR100, 110), cold type (AR210, 200), and super cold and easy additive (4052EP, 4053EP) and so on, to choose A according to specific use. The pre oil property of CM is equivalent to NBR, and the heat resistance is better than NBR. The long-term use is 170 C, and the short term can reach 210 "C. the automobile seal can drive 15~20 million km, about 1.5~2.0 times of NBR, especially in the automobile oil seal. Now, the use of 2/3 is to eliminate the oil seal. Therefore, we often call it the car oil seal. The biggest drawback of automobile oil seal rubber ACM is poor cold resistance, far less than NBR. The heat resistance of ACM is only -15 C, and the standard type is only -20 C. However, in recent years, after continuous improvement, it has been able to reach -30 C and super cold resistance type can even reach -40 C. Another disadvantage is poor workability, mixing, calendering and extrusion. Besides the alkene type ACM, it can not be vulcanized vulcanized like ordinary rubber, and some even undergo two times of vulcanization. However, due to the low price of FKM, which is far more than heat resistant oil, it is still being ignored as the above disadvantages of improving ACM. In recent years, there has been a AEM called ethylene methyl acrylate rubber, with DuPont's Vamac. It is a three - copolymer of ethylene, methyl acrylate and organic carboxylic acid. It is not only good in oil resistance, but also high in elongation of rubber after oil immersion. It is also used to produce power steering gum, high hysteresis plug protection sleeve and automatic bellows. In addition, there are also acrylic rubber, 1F4[(1,1 two hydrogen containing butyl acrylic acid) 2F4[poly (3- Perfluoromethoxy -1,1- two hydrogen fluoride acrylate)) and other products, and is developed by the 3M company. Because of their 50% fluorine content, they are also regarded as the first rubber, the low heat resistance is higher than ACM, the oil resistance is better than the NBR, the low temperature resistance and flexion resistance of 2F4 are better than 1F4. In recent years, it has been expanded to the vehicle in the military fields such as rockets and aircraft.China's production of ACM, the standard level of Jilin oil chemical Super AR-01, AR-03, Suining Qinglong AR-100, AR-200; cold class SuperAR-02, AR-04, AR-300, AR-400.

3.ECO is a series of heat resistant and oil resistant rubber, which can be used at various -40~150 temperatures. The main features are weathering resistance and air tightness, and low compression deformation. It is especially suitable for processing various kinds of membranes in automobile lemon glue products, and also for 0 rings, gaskets and hose products. At present, there are more than 10,000 tons of global strictness, mainly produced by Ruiweng and Cao Da Osaka, China's organic shopping in Wuhan, Hebei Province, etc. are also producing, more complete types of cities. ECO is the most commonly used chlorinated ether crop glue, which is prepared by copolymerization of propylene oxide with ethylene oxide. The representative brands are ECO2 421 (content 24%) and Hydrin 200. The unsaturated ternary polymer can be obtained by adding allyl glycidyl glycidyl monomer 3. The representative brands are ECO 1131 (hydrogen content 11%) and Hydrin 400. A binary copolymer of deuterated propylene oxide and allyl glycidyl ether without cycloethylene is called GCO, which represents GC 00621 (6% chlorine content).

1100, the trimer is GCo0631 (6% of the uterine chloride), Gechron2100, and the four polymer GCO0641 (chlorine content 6%) with epoxy propane, and the properties of Gechron3100 are similar, but the vulcanization system is different. A monomer-homopolymer rubber called CO, also known as cyclohexane rubber, represents CO3611 (36% chlorine), Hydrin 100. Because of insufficient strength and poor processability of the acer, it is mostly used in blending wells with NBR, CR, ACM and FKM to improve the performance. Homopolymer of propylene oxide called PO, also known as propylene oxide rubber, allyl glycidyl glycidyl is introduced into the unsaturated GPO, the representative product is Parel. In addition to their oil resistance and higher heat resistance near NBR, they also have good elasticity and better aging resistance in stinky steamer, especially at -65 C, which is most suitable for use in dynamic low humidity.

      Non-GAAP Information
This release contains certain financial information not derived in accordance with United States ("U.S.") generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP"). These items include adjusted net income, adjusted diluted earnings per share and free cash flow. We believe that the presentation of adjusted net income, adjusted diluted earnings per share and free cash flow, when considered together with the corresponding GAAP financial measures and the reconciliations to those measures, provide meaningful supplemental information to both management and investors that is indicative of our core operations. We considered these metrics useful to investors because they provide greater transparency into management's view and assessment of our ongoing operating performance by removing items management believes are not representative of our operations and may distort our longer-term operating trends. For example, for the three and six months ended June 30, 2024, adjusted net income and adjusted diluted earnings per share exclude costs relating to our global restructuring initiative and acquisition of Motor Parts and Equipment Corporation, which are one-time events that do not recur in the ordinary course of our business. We believe these measures are useful and enhance the comparability of our results from period to period and with our competitors, as well as show ongoing results from operations distinct from items that are infrequent or not associated with our core operations. We do not, nor do we suggest investors should, consider such non-GAAP financial measures as superior to, in isolation from, or as a substitute for, GAAP financial information. We have included a reconciliation of this additional information to the most comparable GAAP measure following the financial statements below. We do not provide forward-looking guidance for certain financial measures on a GAAP basis because we are unable to predict certain items contained in the GAAP measures without unreasonable efforts. These items may include acquisition-related costs, litigation charges or settlements, impairment charges, and certain other unusual adjustments.
      Comparable Sales
Comparable sales is a key metric that refers to period-over-period comparisons of our sales excluding the impact of acquisitions, foreign currency and other. Our calculation of comparable sales is computed using total business days for the period. The company considers this metric useful to investors because it provides greater transparency into management's view and assessment of the company's core ongoing operations. This is a metric that is widely used by analysts, investors and competitors in our industry, although our calculation of the metric may not be comparable to similar measures disclosed by other companies, because not all companies and analysts calculate this metric in the same manner.

The phenomenon that two objects move relative to each other to produce motion resistance between their contact surfaces is called friction, which is called friction. The existence of friction not only increases the power consumption, but also causes the wear of parts' contact surfaces. Therefore, lubricating oil is usually used between the relative moving surfaces of automobile parts to reduce friction. Failure of automotive parts 75% is caused by friction.
Friction can be divided into dry friction, liquid friction, boundary friction and mixed friction according to the lubrication state of the parts.
      (1) dry friction
The friction between the frictional surfaces without any lubricating medium is called dry friction.
When the parts are in the state of dry friction, the surface of the parts is abraded sharply, so the surface of the moving parts of the automobile should avoid the occurrence of dry friction as far as possible.
Dry friction and boundary friction are the main friction between the upper part of cylinder wall and piston ring. Dry friction will occur when the journal and bearing are subjected to impact load in the working process.
      (2) liquid friction
Two the friction of the friction surface when the lubricant is completely separated is called liquid friction.
In liquid friction, the two friction surfaces are completely separated by a layer of lubricating oil film with a thickness of 1.5-2.0um, which avoids direct contact between the working surfaces of the two parts. Friction only occurs between the lubricating fluid molecules, so the friction resistance is very small, and the wear of the parts is very slight.
Most of the relative motion parts of a car are carried out under the condition of liquid friction (for example, crankshaft and bearing).
      (3) boundary friction
Two friction surface separated by a very thin boundary film is called boundary friction.
The oil film thickness is usually below 0.1um. Friction only occurs between the outer molecules of the boundary film, reducing the friction and wear of the parts. But its thickness is very small, and it is easy to be destroyed by impact and high temperature, so it is not as reliable as liquid friction.
For example: between cylinder wall and piston ring; if the work crankshaft and journal between the insufficient supply of lubricant, easy to produce boundary friction.
      (4) Mixed friction
The friction between two friction surfaces in the presence of dry friction, liquid friction and boundary friction is called mixed friction.
In the actual working state, the parts usually work under the mixed friction state, and the friction state varies with the working conditions.

Understanding the types of brake pads essentially means understanding the materials used in each type. This provides us with a clearer understanding of their names and functions and enables us to offer a reference for choosing the right brake pads.
      Friction Materials Composition
The basic composition of brake pads currently available in the market consists of
Shim Steel backing, steel backing adhesive friction material At KETULLA, the steel backing is formed using internationally standard 10mm stainless steel through cold pressing. The friction material comprises a binder, metal fibers, ceramic fibers, phenolic resin, aramid fibers, and various fillers, which are heat-pressed onto the steel backing. The role of the shim is to suppress vibrations, thereby reducing noise. It effectively reduces noise generated by braking. KETULLA utilizes stainless steel or high-quality heat-resistant materials for this purpose.
We typically classify brake pads based on the proportion of key components in the friction material: semi-metallic, low-metallic, ceramic, or collectively referred to as Non-asbestos. In China, asbestos has been strictly prohibited from use in brake pads due to its significant environmental impact and adverse effects on human health. According to the revised regulation 《GB5763-2018》, this has been explicitly stated.
      Low Metallic
link hidden, please login to view Low-metallic brake pads are the most economical option, as they typically consist of 10% to 30% metal fibers, phenolic resin binder, graphite particles, and other fillers. These fillers primarily serve to suppress thermal expansion and contraction of the composite material, thus enhancing bonding strength.
Due to the presence of metal fibers in this formulation, research has shown that vehicles equipped with these brake pads may generate dust on our wheel hubs during braking. This dust, typically gray or black, is a byproduct of friction from the metal fibers and tends to accumulate around the wheel hubs due to its electrostatic properties, making the area appear dirty. Over time, this dust accumulation can also cause damage to the brake discs. However, the advantages of low-metallic brake pads include superior heat conductivity, strong friction capabilities, and shorter braking distances. These factors contribute to why we recommend using low-metallic formulations for truck brake pads
“Due to their affordability, this is also why our factory sells the highest quantity of this type of brake pads. In many countries, customers primarily compare prices and performance when selecting brake pads, making them more likely to choose this type over others
      Semi Metallic
link hidden, please login to view Semi-metallic brake pads have a similar composition to low-metallic brake pads, but with the difference that they contain 30% to 50% metal fibers. Additionally, they use larger graphite particles, which are more visibly apparent on the surface of the brake pads compared to low-metallic ones. Furthermore, their friction coefficient is slightly higher, with better heat conductivity and braking distance performance.
They are generally suitable for use with truck brake pads. However, they are more likely to generate dust, and improper installation may lead to increased noise. In response to this issue, KETULLA continuously optimizes and adjusts the formulation, resulting in significantly reduced dust and noise generation probabilities.
According to market feedback, the primary cause of noise is usually improper installation, indicating that our formulation optimization has been highly effective. Therefore, our purchasers can rest assured.

Ketulla’s ceramic formulation brake pads utilize high-quality ceramic fibers, graphene, and aramid fibers, without the inclusion of metal fibers. The price of ceramic fibers is significantly higher than that of metal fibers, but they offer superior heat conductivity and friction coefficients. Although there may be a slightly softer pedal feel, it does not affect the braking performance. More importantly, they result in much lower wear on the brake discs compared to other formulations, thus extending the lifespan of the vehicle’s brake pads.
