The move allows Tri-State to tap into a significant market, leveraging Bristo Battery’s established customer relationships and expanding its geographic footprint, the company said. The new 18,000-square-foot facility will be rebranded as an Eagle Auto Parts location, functioning as both a distribution hub and a hard parts retail store. Company Background
Bristo Battery and Supply was founded in 1945 by Earl Bristo Jr. in Vernon, Texas, initially focusing on rebuilding starters and generators before transitioning into a full-service auto parts store. Over time, the company expanded into a full-line auto parts warehouse serving north-central Texas and southern Oklahoma, eventually relocating operations to Lubbock, Texas.
      Strategic Acquisition
Mark Cunningham, the most recent owner of Bristo Battery, joined the company in 2001. “I wasn’t actively looking to sell Bristo Battery and Supply,” Cunningham said. “However, after Tri-State Enterprises first reached out, I took the time to learn more about the company. I was impressed by its strong history and the extensive resources it offers. These factors, among others, made my decision easy to partner with them.”
Junior Calvert, general manager of Texas, noted, “This acquisition allows us to further support our customers in West Texas with the quality products, reliable supply, and personalized service they’ve come to expect. We are excited to welcome the Bristo Battery team into the Tri-State family.”
The acquisition strengthens Tri-State’s distribution and supply chain capabilities, aligning with its strategic objectives in the automotive aftermarket sector, the company said.
