Plews & Edelmann recently announced a new factory-direct shipping program for power-steering hose customers in the United States.  

“This progressive logistics solution provides domestic quality and service that exceeds overseas direct-import options,” the company said in a news release. “

Leveraging the company’s “North American supply chain sophistication,” Plews & Edelmann said the factory-direct shipping program offers benefits such as:

  • U.S.-based order fulfillment, avoiding international customs and duties
  • 30-day lead times, significantly improving upon the 90-day lead times often required
  • 95%+ order fill, eliminating global supply chain complexity and unpredictability
  • Full container load efficiency, producing lower shipping costs

“We developed this near-shore shipping program to give customers a domestic and direct import option,” said Tony Edwards, VP of sales. “Due to our North American supply chain capability, we can fulfill orders more efficiently while delivering exceptional quality and service.”

These shoes offer bonded and riveted coverage matching OE attachment methods on most domestic and commercial applications, and the coated shoe plate helps prevent rust and corrosion.

      Bosch introduced 75 new rotating machine part numbers in the first quarter, including new and remanufactured starters, alternators and A/C compressors. This includes four new part numbers in the Bosch A/C compressor lineup, covering 601,000 vehicles in operation.

      The Bosch GDI high-pressure pumps debuted two new part numbers covering 537,000 vehicles in operation, featuring an integrated pressure limiter valve, an integrated pressure damper and a compact, lightweight design.

The company said the program includes more than 1,100 all-new, not remanufactured, Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), Multi-Port Fuel Injection (MFI), and Throttle Body Injection (TBI) injectors, along with GDI high-pressure fuel pumps, fuel feed lines, fuel pressure dampers, fuel pressure sensors, fuel pressure regulators, service kits and more.

      Plews & Edelmann has introduced a complete Electric Power Steering (EPS) repair category—Edelmann EPS drive belt kits, torque sensor replacements, couplings, and proprietary service tools—that eliminate the need for expensive full rack replacement on millions of modern vehicles.       Electric power steering is now standard on most modern vehicles. Inside every belt-driven EPS rack is a rubber belt connecting the electric motor to the steering gear.
