Babcox Media, Inc. announced that Dean Martin will retire from his role as Vice President and Group Publisher at the end of this year, concluding a remarkable 28-year career with the company.

in March 1997 as an account manager and developed into a Publisher and then a Group Publisher and Vice President, leading a number of Babcox Media’s most notable brands. For nearly three decades, Martin has helped to shape the evolution of the company by developing high-performing teams and building long-standing relationships that extended well beyond business. 

More than a seasoned media executive, Martin became a cultural cornerstone at Babcox Media. He is known as much for his insight and leadership as for his authenticity, warmth, and mentorship. He has played a critical role in guiding company initiatives, serving on numerous internal committees and external industry boards, and growing Babcox Media’s impact across the transportation industry.  

Though stepping back from his executive role, Martin will remain part of the Babcox family in a new role as Multimedia Account Manager for select accounts, beginning in January 2026. He will also continue to serve as the company’s liaison to AAPEX, a partnership he helped expand and strengthen over the years. 

“Dean has left a mark on our organization,” said Bill Babcox, Chief Executive Officer of Babcox Media. “He’s been a passionate advocate for our people, our clients, and our brands. His can-do mindset and deep industry connections have helped elevate our company, and our culture. We are grateful that he will continue supporting us in a new capacity.”

In this role, Cox will lead NMG’s end-to-end supply chain strategy and operations, reporting directly to President Scott Weinstein. Cox brings more than 35 years of experience across retail and wholesale merchandising, inventory management and operations. He has a strong record of building scalable, high-performing supply chain organizations in complex and fast-growing environments, NMG said.
      Most recently, Cox served as vice president of supply chain & inventory management at M&D Distributors. He oversaw purchasing, inventory, category management, vendor strategy, and acquisition integrations across a multi-hub distribution network.
      XL Parts / The Parts House Leadership Roles
      Prior to M&D, he spent more than a decade with XL Parts / The Parts House in progressively senior leadership roles, including vice president of supply chain and vice president of inventory management. During his tenure, Cox played a key role in doubling the size of the business through acquisitions, building category management capabilities, improving service levels, driving margin expansion, and professionalizing purchasing and inventory processes across hundreds of locations.
