My son was recently gifted a 2007 Pontiac G6 2.4L I4. It was a gift from a family member who used it as a daily driver for years. The car was well-maintained with all services completed regularly. It's been registered as Non-Op for over a year and a half since they got a replacement car. Took the car to a mechanic, and almost everything checks out, needs some new plugs, brakes, and belts but nothing too terrible, except for the Cat. Seems at some point someone tried to cut the Cat off, and someone in the family welded it back on. Check engine light comes on for emissions. So I know it won't pass smog. I'm having trouble finding a new Cat for the car because it has to be CA-compliant. Looking for a little help if at all possible. Thanks.
