  1. Alright, my mother's car has been acting up...

She went to town day before yesterday, called and said it would start, then die... Then no start at all. got there,it wouldn't even hit with starting fluid into the air intake. A few minutes later, fired right up, ran great.

she drove as we followed her, then it died again on a feeder road, luckily there were plenty of places of business to pull into, just so happened, it died right in front of a car dealership.

any how, after it set a minute, fired back up.. Ran great. Drove it around yesterday. Ran flawless.

My mom went to pickup groceries last night, called, said it died on her.

Me and my brother grabbed a tow strap and took off... Got there, wouldn't hit a lick.

Brought it home after it had cooked off, fired up. Ran great.

This morning we're looking at it, we let it idle for a bit, it died.

Hooked up  my trusty spark tester to a plug wire....no spark...

After it set for about 3 minutes, we tried to start it with the tester hooked up to the wire, and plug..It fired once then nothing....after it cooled again, fired right up.... I told my dad, next time it dies, check the spark coming from the coil to The distributor, as one plug wire from the coil to The distributor. So it died again, hooked the spark tester inline from the coil to distributor..Spark!!!  Took the tester off and reinstalled the coil to distributor wire and it fired right up.... So sometimes when it dies, it fires right up, other times, it won't and has no spark.

  2. the suburban is acting up, it would rev up high and shit real hard with a clunk, and sometimes just idle very high, my dad's replaced the Idle air control valve and coolant temp. sender.

i think he's reading it might be the throttle position sensor...

     any ideas?
    Thanks

  4. Ford Motor Co said Thursday it will recall nearly 1.5 million cars in North America to address a faulty part that could lead to engine stalls.

The second-largest U.S. automaker said it is calling back 2012 through 2018 model-year Ford Focus cars with 2.0-liter GDI and 2.0-liter GTDI engines for a malfunctioning canister purge valve. Ford said the valve may become stuck open, creating excessive vacuum in the fuel system could deform the car's plastic fuel tank. That, in turn, could cause a malfunction light, or a fuel gauge could give inaccurate readings. Which in turn could lead to a stall while driving and an inability to restart the vehicle, risking a crash.

Ford said it is not aware of any crashes as a result of this condition but said owners should maintain at least a half tank of fuel until the recall is completed.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Thursday it had opened a preliminary investigation into 54,400 Ford Motor Co pickup trucks after receiving five complaints that tailgates had unexpectedly opened while the vehicles were in motion.

The agency said the investigation was looking into the issue in 2017 model year F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickup trucks.

NHTSA will investigate to determine if the issue poses an unreasonable risk to safety and whether the agency should seek a recall.

In October 2017, Ford issued a technical service bulletin addressing the issue, and found water intrusion in the wire harness as the root cause of tailgate problems, NHTSA said.

A Ford spokeswoman said the company was cooperating with NHTSA in the investigation.

General Motors is recalling more than 210,000 SUVs and pickup trucks because a faulty brake component could reduce the effectiveness of the rear brakes and increase the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The GM brake recall affects certain 2018-2019 Chevrolet Equinox SUVs, Impala and Cruze sedans, and Bolt and Volt electric vehicles; GMC Terrain SUVs; Buick Lacrosse and Regal cars; Cadillac XTS SUVs; and 2018 Chevrolet Malibu sedans.

NHTSA said that a faulty brake-system component may cause bubbles to form in the brake fluid, which could reduce rear braking performance.

GM was informed about the problem by the part supplier ZF, according to a NHTSA filing. It is a problem that has affected Audi and Volkswagen, Dodge and Jeep, and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a GM spokesman said.
